It’s time to check up on another episode of State of Cricket by Cricket Huddle. This time, we put our focus on Virat Kohli, the former all-format captain of the Indian cricket team. We’ve mentioned him quite a number of times in our episodes, not to mention all the criticism in the past. With his knock of 82(53) not out, maybe it is time for us fans to slow down on the hate and learn to appreciate the man more.

He brought India back from the dead under immense pressure and in a very tough situation. He has not been in form for quite some time, yet he had to be the saving grace in this unimaginable, come-back-from-behind victory. A lot of things that could’ve gone wrong in this remarkable chase didn’t happen, only because of the cool heads of Kohli and Hardik Pandya. Let’s just bask in the glory of last-ball win and forget about the past. Let’s all look ahead into the future that this man can promise us!

On that note, here are some of the things you will hear on the podcast. We might have put a lot of expectations on Kohli, which is why he probably doesn’t need to do much now to keep satisfying us fans. That being said, this is still his white-ball form. He needs to provide this same intensity and performance in Test cricket too. We also talk about the form of some players (Lokesh Rahul, Axar Patel), the quality of left-handed fast bowlers, turning points in the India-Pakistan game, and much more.
